We found this Portland Water Bureau utility cover while walking the city and did what any reasonable traveler does when confronted with particularly handsome municipal infrastructure—we stopped cold and took a picture of it. The guy texting on his phone behind us was not amused.
The original cover has been reversed here, turning the raised lettering and geometric details into a bold graphic that feels almost like an old civic seal.
